Evaluation of Constituent Technologies and R&D Strategy for Space Solar Power System

In a space solar power system (SSPS), the generated power on a satellite is transmitted to the ground via microwave. As the scale, weight and handling power is beyond conventional space systems, the necessary constituent technologies are not fully verified in terms of validity. In order to proceed to system design, each technology should be lined up at the same level of maturity or reliability. This paper first overviews and evaluate the reliability of the required technologies. Then, the strategy will be proposed from the viewpoint of technology and financing.
