Anharmonic Sensing of Granular Mechanics Using Micromechanical Resonators

Micromechanical resonators provide an interesting experimental testbed to probe the physics of microscale granular networks comprising of micron and submicron scale particulates. This paper shows that the gradual transformation of microscale granular networks, comprising microscopic particulates on the surface of a MEMS device, is experimentally correlated to the skewedness of the amplitude-dependent frequency response of micromechanical resonator device.
