Design of High Condensing Searchlight Based on Ultra High Bright LEDs

A novel searchlight based on Ultra High Bright LEDs will be proposed. Special packaging technology with excellent heat dissipation technology makes the LED modules have highest power density and ultra-short focal length with large numerical aperture optical system is presented to realize collimating illumination with low Fresnel loss. The distance between the light source and the point where the illuminance is 1 lux has been calculated to be over 3km and the beam angle is 2.6°. It was confirmed in a site experiment that the light ray from searchlight proceeds forward without any diffusion because of the narrow beam angle.
