Generation-Storage Coordination Control in DC Microgrids

In dc microgrids, the renewable energy sources (RESs) and storages are the critical components to maintain the normal operation. Therefore, the coordination control between the generations and storages is very important. In this paper, a decentralized control method is proposed to realize the generation-storage coordination based on the dc bus signaling. The proposed control method can regulate the output power of RESs in time to maintain the power flow under some extreme conditions. Furthermore, through the modified droop control, multiple storages can balance their state-of-charges (SOCs) to prevent the overuse of a certain storage. Then, the reliability of the system can be significantly enhanced. The simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control method.
