Local Consumption of DG in Multiple Energy Forms for Facility Agriculture with Time-Shifting Loads

Facility agricultural load demands are constantly growing in rural areas of China, whereas large capacities of distributed solar generation in these areas are causing power quality problems when solar power is transferred back to the power grid. As a result, the most efficient way to handle both problems is supplying agricultural loads with distributed solar generation. Due to the stochastic and intermittent characteristics of solar power and weak structure of rural power grid, this paper proposes local consumption as the way to achieve the aforementioned goal. As facility agriculture greenhouse is getting more and more prevalent in modern agriculture, the intelligent agricultural loads with time-shifting characteristic are considered. Besides, the energy form of facility agricultural loads is various. Heat, electricity and information networks are all tightly interconnected to form an Energy Internet. Energy router is then introduced to coordinate the energy and information flows in the system, as well as to monitor and manage the operations of distributed generation and loads. The model of each component and the control model are established. Based on the concept of demand response, a local consumption control strategy has then been presented to actively adjust time-shifting loads to the change of distributed solar generation. At last, an example analysis is given to verify the effectiveness of the established models and local consumption control strategy.
