Consideration on Voltage Fluctuation caused by Active Method of Islanding Detection of Photovoltaic Generation

With the increase of photovoltaic (PV) generation, the methods of islanding detection have become important for safety issue all over the world. In Japan, an active method was standardized to solve mutual interference of injected signals. However, voltage fluctuations caused by the reactive power injection with the method have been observed in some areas of Japan. These voltage fluctuations are considered to be related to the interconnection amount of PVs having the method, the line impedance and load conditions. In this paper, the relations between voltage fluctuation and them were investigated using power system transient analysis software named eXpandable Transient Analysis Program (XTAP).
