Multiple Vortex Electromagnetic Wave Generation Based on Ultra-Wideband Reflective Metasurface

In this paper, a metasurface that can simultaneously generate multi-modal vortex electromagnetic wave in ultra wideband is proposed. The metasurface was composed by arrow-shaped elements with different arm lengths arranged equidistantly along the circumference to covert a plane wave to vortex electromagnetic wave. The simulation results verifies that the reflected wave from the designed reflective metasurface is vortex wave in ultra-wideband from 18GHz to 42GHz, which is in good agreement withthe theoretical analysis. The proposed reflective metasurface paves an effective wayto generate vortex electromagnetic wave with multi-modal in ultra-wideband for OAM-based communication system.
