Effects of ZnO Contents on Trap Distribution of Epoxy Composites at Cryogenic Temperature

The flashover at the solid-liquid interface is the main dielectric failure in the cryogenic insulation system, which has great relation with the trap distribution. In this paper, epoxy/Al
2
O
3
/ZnO composites with different ZnO contents were prepared and the isothermal discharge current (IDC) method was employed to analyze the trap distribution. Results indicate that ZnO doping into epoxy composite decreases the deep trap density and increases the shallow trap density, which may have a potential application in the HTS insulation modifier.
