Current Control of IPMSM Without Voltage Saturation for Engine Torque Simulator

This paper presents the current control of an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) without voltage saturation of the inverter for engine torque simulator. The maximum output voltage can be obtained from the maximum variation value of the instantaneous engine torque reference. Voltage saturation is avoided by reducing the d-axis current according to the maximum output voltage. The effectiveness of the proposed method has been verified by experiments.
