Consideration of Leakage Path Saturation in an Analytical Calculation Model of an Induction Machine

An analytical calculation model of an induction machine with squirrel cage rotors considering the influence of leakage path saturation is presented. The model bases on the harmonic field theory and takes into account multiple armature reaction and slot openings. Therefore, it is capable to calculate several parasitic effects. The harmonic field theory is only truly valid for ideal material characteristics. Here, it is shown that next to considering the saturation of the fundamental wave also the saturation of leakage paths can be incorporated in the theory and it is still possible to calculate parasitic effects accurately.
