Different Recombination in PID-affected Solar Modules from the Field

In this paper, some PID-affected solar modules dismounted from power plant were studied. And the obtained I-V curves of three substrings which were measured by solar simulator showed that the degradation of main electrical parameters (V
_oc

and P
_max
) were different. By analyzing the double-diode equivalent model of solar cell, it is further found that depletion region recombination current I
₀₂
and quality factor n
₂
increased, which can be attributed to the destruction of depletion region caused by PID. And then this result is proved by electroluminescence images and thermography images of three substrings.
