An Extension for OWL-Based policies and Privacy as Contextual integrity for WebID

This work is part of an ongoing project to extend WebID and compliments work already done with biometrics. A WebID profile document might have public information about a user as well as personal information identified by a WebID. Users might not want to reveal a lot of information about themselves. This can be achieved by separating a user's profile into separate documents and having each protected by access control using the web access control vocabulary. The work reported here implements Nissenbaum's framework for contextual integrity using OWL-based policies for an extension of the WebID protocol. We created a policy ontology that allows for reasoning about access control and imports the Friend Of A Friend (FOAF) ontology and the KAoS ontologies. The norms described by Nissenbaum are implemented as owl: Restriction classes.
