A Study on the PAPR of Systematic UW-OFDM

High peak to average power ratio (PAPR) is one of the main shortcomings of multicarrier (MC) systems. In recent years, unique word (UW-OFDM) has been proposed as a new family member of multicarrier systems with a different approach to create the time-domain guard interval while keeping the same features of cyclic prefixed (CP-OFDM) systems regarding lSI and cyclicity. In this paper, we investigate the effect of different parameters of UW-OFDM system on its PAPR. By simulation, we will show that the length of unique word and guard band are two system parameters that effect the PAPR of UW-OFDM.
