Subscribe Synchronization the Way to Support Big Map and High Consistency

This paper offered a new kind of online games synchronization - Subscribe Synchronization. Based on subscribe synchronization, this paper proposes a new online games server architecture that combines frame synchronization and status synchronization. Subscribe synchronization and this architecture resolves the conflict of large map and high consistency in online games. The important content of subscribe synchronization is the message entity. A message entity consists of a message processor and a subscription list. There are two functions of the message processor, one is responsible for processing and publishing messages, the other is maintaining and updating the subscription list. The subscription list is a list of recorded message entities. According to the subscription list, the message entity subscribes to the messages that published by other message entities. Subscribe synchronization splits the message processing function and message distribution function in traditional online games server. Subscribe synchronization reduces the logical complexity of an online game server and can supports both large map and high consistency.
