A Minimum Sub-Carrier Path RSA in Spectrum-Sliced Elastic Optical Path Networks

The orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology provides an opportunity for efficient resource utilization in optical networks. To utilize the spectrum efficiently SLICE architecture has been recently introduced. This architecture helps in allocation of different size wavelength resource allocations and also multiple date rate traffic allocations is possible. In SLICE networks routing and spectrum allocation problem is a current research issue. In this paper, an online version of RSA problem is addressed and provides two algorithms such as MSCP and MKSP algorithms for arbitrary mesh network topologies and is implemented on the 8-node ring and 14-node NSF networks. The effectiveness of the algorithms is measured with simulation by varying total number of requests and maximum demand in terms of number of sub-carriers.
