mm-Wave Homogeneous Flat Lens Antenna System Exploiting Mainstream PCB Process for 5G Access Point

In this paper, a novel millimetre wave (mm-Wave) flat lens antenna system and its feed network co-designed on a mainstream print circuit board (PCB) technology is presented. It is capable of achieve 3600 coverage scan in Azimuth plane with> 14 dBi measured peak gain and the measured return loss is <; 10 dB. Steering in the Elevation plane is designed to be 150upwards; this is controlled by the metal flanges opening angles as they are soldered on both side of the lens. This lens antenna system can be a great candidate for 5G access point operates at mm-Wave. The same technique could be also applied in smaller devices such as cellular phone or tablets.
