Design of a dual-band orthogonally polarized transmitarray using 3-dipole elements

A new method is proposed to design a dual-band (12.5/14.25 GHz) transmitarray with interlaced orthogonally polarized 3-dipole elements. This element overcomes basic phase restriction of simple dipole element and is used effectively to achieve 360° phase range in both frequency bands independently. A 4-layer dual-band transmitarray is designed successfully, and high gains of 31.6 dB and 32.7 dB are achieved with aperture efficiencies of 51.3% and 50.7% at 12.5 GHz and 14.25 GHz, respectively.
