A new multi-band Gysel power divider

In this paper, a new multi-band Gysel power divider (PD) is proposed. Compared with the conventional Gysel PD, two additional multi-band biasing networks composed of trunk transmission lines (TLs) and shunted open-end stubs are attached with the phase inverters between the two isolation resistors. Besides multiple passbands, this configuration also results in simple structure without additional via holes or lumped elements. In addition, just like as the traditional Gysel PD, the proposed one also features high-power handling capability, and higher working frequencies than Wilkinson PDs, which makes it more suitable for the application of 5G mobile communication. Detailed closed-form design equations are derived and verified by a tri-band design operating at 2.0 GHz, 2.5 GHz, and 3.0 GHz.
