A new beetle antennae search algorithm for multi-objective energy management in microgrid

In order to achieve the economic operation of the microgrid and reduce environmental pollution, a multi-objective microgrid energy optimization model, using minimum operation cost and minimum pollutant treatment cost as its objectives, was established. The energy optimization management and scheduling of microgrid including renewable energy sources (solar and wind), conventional energy sources (diesel generator) and energy storage systems, were analyzed. The proposed optimization problem was expressed as a constrained, multi-objective, nonlinear, and mixed-integer programing. Because Beetle antennae search (Bas) algorithm has the advantages of fast convergence, simple implementation, and small probability to be trapped in the local optimum through a reasonable variable step size strategy, so it was utilized to solve this problem. The results of simulation on a certain microgrid demonstrated the viability and effectiveness of the proposed method in microgrid energy management.
