Research on molten iron ladles location method based on the combination of ZigBee and image

The Molten Iron Ladles(MIL) plays an important role in the Steelmaking and Continuous Steel Casting, and its location information is the base of the intelligent scheduling. Currently, the positioning method using artificial interpretation is inefficient and laborious. In order to optimize the scheduling management of hot metal and improve the operational efficiency of steelmaking, a MIL location method based on the combination of ZigBee and image is proposed in this paper. An overhead travelling crane positioning system based on ZigBee technology is established by using this method. In this system, the location of the MIL can be obtained by the location of the crane which hanging the MIL. At the same time, combined with image processing technology, which assists positioning the MIL and improves positioning accuracy, the number of the MIL is identified. The test results show that positioning average error is less than 2 m, and the accuracy is 97.34%, which meets the needs of the development of intelligent production.
