Air conditioning using magnetic cooling effect

The air Conditioner which works on magnetic refrigeration highlights the importance of green technology. The paper discusses on how to develop an eco-friendly, safer, compact, lightweight and low carbon technology device. The device proposed here is an alternative to the conventional vapor compression system which plays a major role in depleting the ozone layer due to the presence of CFC refrigerant present in it. This model can use either water as refrigerant or an environment friendly refrigerant glycol water which is 80% water and 20% alcohol mixture. The design of Portable AC has been done based on the different parameters governing the thermodynamic conditions. The simulation carried out in MATLAB provides an insight into estimation of components required for construction of this device.
