Some considerations about development research and development projects on energy efficiency in the Brazilian electrical systems

According to the National Electric Balance of the year 2016, on the basis of the year of 2015, compared to the year of 2014, the total losses of the national energy matrix have been reduced by 3.1%, while from the point of view of energy consumption, the total losses increased from 14.7% to 15.1%. Such data, associated with the history verified in the national scenario, lead to the conclusion that the total losses in energy constitute alone theme of national relevance that must arouse the interest, concern, and performance of professionals, companies, society and government. In this work are presented the implemented efforts on the preparation of projects of Research and Development classified on the Energy Efficiency theme, by the National Agency of Electric Energy, and performed by electric energy companies in partnership with universities and research laboratories. In this particular, is presented the position of the Energy Efficiency theme compared to the other; the investments recognized by the National Agency of Electric Energy, as well as the typology met by the projects of Energy Efficiency, the investments and some results obtained in terms of saved energy and withdrawal demand from the peak.
