Compact offset CPW-fed inverted L-shaped dual-band dual-polarized reconfigurable printed antenna

In this paper, an offset coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed asymmetrical inverted L-shaped dual-band compact printed antenna with switchable frequency and axial ratio (AR) is presented. Dual resonance modes at 2.56/4.74 GHz are excited due to offset asymmetrical inverted L-shaped monopole and horizontal L-shaped stub integrated to modified hook-shaped stub connected to left upper contour of modified CPW ground plane. Two PIN diodes are employed at different locations of horizontal L-shaped stub integrated to modified hook-shaped stub for reconfiguration and by changing the states of diodes, switching in frequency and AR in the respective band is achieved while keeping antenna size of 25 × 23 mm
