Security-aware attribute-based access control for fog-based eldercare system

Electronic and remote eldercare is a promising technique in the aging society where security and privacy are crucial issues in the system. In this paper, we propose a security-aware Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) for eldercare system. The elder's health information is encrypted and sent to the fog. The fog processes the data in ciphertext by using homomorphic encryption. Then, the result is forwarded to the caregiver, who is the guardian of the elder. The caregiver judges the elder's health status by decrypting the result. The caregiver sends a medical service request to the medical service provider if the elder is in bad health condition. For preventing irrelevant entities from getting the elder's health information, only the medical service provider who satisfies the access structure can access the data.
