Electromagnetic scattering algorithm of dielectric bodies based on Müller equations

The Müller integral equation of the dielectric object is a less used integral equation, which can reduce the singularity degree of the kernel. In this paper, we apply the Nyström method to solve the Müller equations based on a direct discretization of surface integrals by means of two-dimensional (2D) quadrature formulas. This method is an alternative to the standard method of moments (MoM) and allows a simpler and faster calculation of matrix elements of a system matrix equation. In order to verify the accuracy of the method, we present a numerical example for electromagnetic scattering by a multilayered spherical object. The comparison between its result and available exact solution shows that they are in good agreement.
