Miniaturized tapered meandered dual band dipole antenna for WiFi 2.4/5.8 GHz application

A compact sized, easy to manufacture, planar dual-band dipole antenna for WiFi applications is presented in this paper. The proposed design consists of a tapered meandered-bowtie shaped dipole antenna that operates in two bands, 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz. It is printed on a 1.6 mm thick FR4 substrate, the overall size of the antenna is 21.5 × 15 × 1.6 mm

and it exhibits positive gain over all the reported bands of operation.
