Research and design of an FM radio transmitter positioning system based on UAV

Direction finding(DF) and positioning of frequency modulation(FM) transmitting station with known frequency are important technology of FM broadcast supervision. In recent years, illegal radio stations across the country have emerged endlessly, resulting in adverse social impact. These illegal radio stations are generally small in size and concealed, especially in the urban environment where the buildings are so high that they are difficult to be investigated and dealt with. To solve this problem, this paper introduces the method of three-dimensional positioning of FM radio by using multi rotor unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) equipped with radio DF equipment. At the same time, the composition and principle of the UAV DF and positioning system are expounded, and the hardware structure and software function are given, which provides a new technical means for the monitoring and positioning of the FM radio station.
