Modelling of a ZVS full-bridge DC-DC converter for photovoltaic applications

This paper presents the small-signal ac model of a zero-voltage switching full-bridge dc-dc converter employed as a micro-inverter (MIC) in photovoltaic applications. The proposed model relates the input voltage (supplied by the photovoltaic module) with phase-delay of phase-shift modulation. It can be used to design the voltage controller to implement the desired maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm. To accomplish this goal, the state-space averaging approach is used. Experimental results (step response and frequency sweep) are obtained to validate the model.
