A proposed multi-channel system for public libraries in Bangladesh

In this era of technological advancement, public libraries of Bangladesh still follow paper based inefficient management system for maintaining their huge volume of data and services. No integrated computerized database is maintained to keep records of library data and also library tasks are performed manually. In this paper, we have proposed a cloud based automated library management system to replace the old monotonous, tedious manual system and to ease the library tasks certainly. This proposed system is developed for both the web and mobile channel which manages the huge volume of data in a well-structured way reducing the scope of shortcomings and data loss. The system works as a bridge between library administrators and general users by providing inexpensive, time efficient, secured platform. A light weighted evaluation was also carried out that showed that the proposed system is reliable, secure, user-friendly and useful.
