METT: Modified expected transmission time for calculating effective transmission time

Internet traffic with various dimension is growing rapidly; there is a compelling need to provide a better quality of service especially over the growing number of wireless networks. Link quality based routing metrics such as ETX, ETT, EPL, and WCETT have already been explored. Our prime concern is to design a routing metric referred Modified Expected Transmission Time (METT) and this proposed metric is able to estimate the minimal interferences, higher-throughput paths and minimize the transmission time. The performance of the METT metric is compared with the original ETT metric and our proposed metric outperforms the existing metrics.
