Research on the optimization of location for intelligent road light

This paper proposes a location selection model of intelligent road light equipped with LED traffic-induced screen. It is important to select reasonable location for intelligent road light in the construction of smart city and Internet of things. In this model, many influence factors such as the rate of road traffic incidents, road traffic flow, the rate of valid information, the rate of access to information and information redundancy are considered. The main contribution of our proposed model is not only to determine the location, but also to determine the display area of LED traffic-induced screen according to real-world traffic data by a heuristic method. The main steps of our proposed approach are to convert road network into directed graph and to quantify the information utility of LED traffic-induced screen. At the end, a location scheme is simulated by VISSIM, and the average travel time is used as the evaluation index.
