A power dependent frequency selective surface

In this paper, a power dependent nonlinear square loop FSS which provides transmission at low power and reflection at high power is proposed. The nonlinear property of this structure is realized by utilizing the nonlinear property of diodes as the diode can have `on' and `off' state at high and low power level, respectively. To have a accurate estimation of the property of diodes and study the performance of the FSS, co-simulation of full wave simulation and circuit simulation is carried out. Spice circuit model of the diode is used which is very accurate model of the diodes. A threshold power of 0 dBm/unit is achieved for the power dependent FSS.
