Resource allocation for content downloading in socially-enabled D2D communications underlaying cellular networks

Content downloading using Device-to-Device (D2D) communications is a prospecting method for improving energy efficiency and reducing downloading delay. However, most research on this topic typically concentrates on physical transmissions, but not make full use of users' social information. In this paper, we study the resource allocation problem including content downloading mode selection and link allocation in a socially-enabled cellular network, by considering both physical transmissions and social information. Moreover, we turn to users' static social information, e.g. social ties, to model the deliver willingness of content owners and dynamic social knowledge, e.g. contact time, to measure the success deliver probability. Furthermore, we define the resource allocation problem as a coalition graph game to study the cooperation among the content owners and the content askers. Moreover, a coalition graph formation algorithm is designed to get a local Nash network of the game, where all the D2D downloading links are stably established. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of our study.
