A novel wideband frequency selective surface with dense arranged hybrid elements

This paper presents a novel wideband frequency selective surface (FSS), which possesses the properties of flat response and stable performance. Y-loop is surrounded by cross-loops, which are distributed in a dense arrangement. The FSS is sandwiched by two dielectric layers. Simulation results show that this single-layer FSS, composed of hybrid elements, possesses a wide bandwidth of 13.65 GHz, and also a stable band-pass behavior. The fractional bandwidth reaches 54.3% at normal incidence.
