Rectangular grid type patch antenna for S band and X band applications

This paper present the design of rectangular grid type patch antenna especially for S Band and X Band applications. Now a day's different antenna are used for different wireless application, so different band in communication system can be conventionally served in one antenna. This is achieved by formation of grid in patch antenna. For design of proposed antenna FR-4 substrate having thickness of 1.6mm is used as a substrate material. HFSS Software is used to design and simulate the proposed antenna. The return loss of -10db and less is achieved at frequency ranges of 3.6 GHz, 4.1GHz, 8GHz and 9.5GHz. The band width is gradually increased at different resonance frequency.
