Predictive speed control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with maximum torque per ampere control strategy

In this paper, predictive speed control (PSC) of interior permanent magnet sychonous motor (IPMSM) which is based on finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) is investigated. The predictive speed controller with a cascade-free structure has a excellent dynamic performance. A prediction model with speed compensation is used to predict the future states of IPMSM. Then a cost function with multi-constrained objectives is employed to optimize the switching states for the IPMSM control. Maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control strategy is employed for a maximum output torque. Dynamical adjusting weight factors are designed to realize speed tracking and guarantee the current operating points lay on the MTPA trajectory. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is evaluated through simulations.
