Engineering and analysis of aerodynamics and design parameters for metro tunnel fans with the same blade for different hub/tip diamater ratios

The authors determine basic parameters for components of axial tunnel fan VO-21(t) with a straight-walled annular diffuser. The parameters and aerodynamic design are tested using ANSYS CFX software. It is found to be feasible to cut down metal consumption of the fan impeller and its moment of inertia by redistributing normal inertia of the impeller blades from the hub to the disks. Relations between the permissible rotation speed of the impeller and the disk thickness are given in the article.
