Some considerations on mutual coupling of microstrip phased array

In designing a microstrip phased array (MSA-array) shown in Fig.1, it is important to estimate the influence of mutual coupling between microstrip antennas(MSA)
⁽¹⁾
. In this paper, we investigate the effect of mutual coupling on the radiation pattern of the antenna. After calculating the coupling, the experimental patterns are compared to the calculated ones. From these results, it is shown that the experimental patterns agree well with the theoretical ones considering the mutual coupling of the antenna.
