Low cost optical fiber sensing system based on low coherence interferometers for temperature and strain multiplexed measurement

Fiber optical sensors based on low-coherence interferometerer have been widely researched in recent years since its high precision and wide measuring range. For commercial application, we demonstrated such a system which consists of two low-coherence interferometer and a data acquisition card for measurement in the field of temperature and strain. By testing the interference signal influenced by temperature and strain variation, the sensitivity of 12 μm/°C and 0.16 μm/με were obtained.
