A block feeding control strategy of long primary linear induction motor

This paper introduces long primary double sided linear induction motor (LIM) for special industrial applications. The LIM adopts modular structure and uses block feeding method. The significance is increasing efficiency, saving energy and reducing power capacity, the primary parallel connection with segment powered drive is adopted, which consist of long primary double sided LIMs. Each segment motor uses three independent motors parallel structure, the LI Ms parameters must vary with the change in position of the secondary, and it results in the current fluctuations. In this paper, a bock feeding control strategy is proposed based on an average parameter voltage-current model. The pure electromagnetic brake is carried out. The experiment results verify the effectiveness of the method.
