Simulation research of sensorless control of PMSM based on MRAS considering parameters variation and dead-time

This paper studies the senserless control of surface-mount permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) based on model reference adaptive system (MRAS) method. We focus attention on how parameter variation and dead-time influence the speed and position estimation error of the sensorless control strategy. Comparison of different impacts caused by each parameter variation is realized using Matlab/Simulink. The performance evaluation targets we choose are maximum speed/position errors, oscillation of speed error in steady state and position error in steady state. The simulation results show that the inaccuracy of flux linkage brings the most negative influence on the PMSM speed estimation. Second one is the q-axis inductance. The variations of d-axis inductance, resistance and dead-time have just little impacts that can be ignored.
