A novel polarization measurement method for large transmitting antenna/antenna array

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) as a platform, a novel polarization measurement method for large transmitting antenna Z/antenna array is proposed. The mathematical model of the measurement is founded on the decomposition theory of the ellipse polarization microwave. To eliminate the polarization distortion, three mutually orthogonal linearly polarized antennas are selected as measuring reference standard. On the basis of solving the position stability and parameter calibration problems of the reference standard antennas, a verification experiment is practically carried out. Measurement results show that this new method is effective and feasible, thus meeting the practical needs in engineering application.
