A Frequency Estimation Method Based on MWC Discrete Compressed Sampling Structure

For the problem that the sensitivity greatly reduces when the bandwidth of wideband digital receivers increases and the problem of cross-channel signal caused by uniform channelized wideband digital receivers, a new receiver based on modulated wideband converter (MWC) discrete compressed sampling structure is proposed and the proposed structure is improved to compressively sample radar signals and to estimate carrier frequency information by processing compressed sampling data. MWC uses periodic pseudo-random sequences to mix signals to baseband and other sub-bands, the problem of cross-channel signal can be solved if we process the baseband signal and the sensitivity of the system can be increased. Then the carrier frequency can be estimated based on the connection of the baseband signals of the randomly selected two channels and the root mean square error (RMSE) of the carrier frequency estimation can be known by the given formulas. Finally the design examples that we directly use MWC compressed sampling data to carry out the carrier frequency estimation verify the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method.
