Ion compensation of the space charge in the gyrotron helical electron beams

Elementary processes of the residual gas ionization for long-pulse regimes of the gyrotron operation are considered. Equilibrium concentration of ions in the gyrotron operating space after the end of the transition process is estimated analytically. The profile of the ion density along the transportation channel is found.
