An H-shape dielectric resonator antenna with U-slot on the patch

An H-shape dielectric resonator antenna with U-slot on the patch is presented in this paper, the H-shape dielectric resonator is mounted on the vertical ground plane edge. The U-slot is etched on the patch antenna to obtain the isolation from WLAN frequency (5.125 GHz– 5.825 GHz). The frequency bands for S

≤ −10 dB are from 3.61 GHz to 4.80 GHz and from 6.05 GHz to 9.56 GHz, respectively. The bandwidths and gain can satisfy the detection requirement, this kind of antenna can be used to detect breast tumor due to its dielectric resonator permittivity is 10.2 which is very close to breast fat.
