Wavelength-tunable add/drop filter for optical networks

A wavelength-tunable optical add/drop filter for wavelength-division multiplexing at 1550 nm was realized using planar silicon-oxynitride waveguides. The filters show low insertion loss, high isolation figures and negligible polarization dependence.
