Comparing the effect of using new hysteresis material on the performance of a hystersis motor

The hysteresis motor is the self-starting synchronism motor. From the time of its start until it reaches synchronous speed, the motor produces a synchronous torque and an ideally flat speed/torque characteristic. The rotor of a hysteresis motor is a cylindrical tube of high hysteresis loss permanent magnet material without winding or slots. It is known that the hysteresis ring material magnetic characteristics plays an important role in flux distribution that can influence the output torque, terminal current and the efficiency of this motor. Regarding this issue, in this study effect of using new material for hysteresis ring on the performance characteristics of a radial flux hysteresis motor is investigated. Finally, the simulation of hysteresis motor is done in order to extract the output values of motor is done using 2D-Finite Element Model.
