Optimization of magnetizing parameters for multi-pole magnetic scales by Taguchi method

This research focuses on optimization of parameters for magnetizing patterned magnetic scale to match the application of precision control.The results are potential to fabricate a magnetized multi-pole magnetic scale with high quality magnetic field. This method leads to improve the quality and cost in designing magnetizing parameters. As a result of using the optimal solution, the Bz enhancement is achieved by a factor of 1.17x and the decrease in SD is 0.4x. The high reproducibility factor is evidenced from SD/Bz, which is 0.006x (5.6/842.7). The high quality field through the detection gap control is beneficial for signal processing. The effects of magnetization parameters will be further elaborated in details.
