Simultaneous low linewidth enhancement factor and high bandwidth quantum-dash injection-locked laser

A directly-modulated quantum-dash Fabry-Perot laser with near-zero α-factor and a broadband 16-GHz response is demonstrated using strong optical injection. This laser system has potential for implementation in high-speed digital transmitters for long-haul fiber links.
