An intelligent assembly cell for automated cell production

We have developed an intelligent assembly cell (IAC) that aims at flexible automation. Built-in quality and multifunctionality, which are the most important elements for automation of cell production, are achieved using machine vision and mechanical compliance control technologies. In this paper, we explain the application of these technologies and show how the IAC uses them to realize flexible automation.
